Updates: Week Ending August 28, 2026
An uneventful, maybe even a slightly boring, week. A couple of my trades ended up reverting back to break-even, which I closed, due to the Fed's hawkish stance at the Jackson Hole symposium on Friday. I immediately observed this on my EURUSD trade and a few others.
EURUSD
Here's a look at my EURUSD chart.

The 4-hour timeframe shows price selling off quite sharply following stronger demand in the US dollar. On the daily timeframe, it is simply one large red candle at the end of the week.
I can't say I'm particularly happy about exiting this trade at breakeven, but there is a reason for it. I will touch upon it in a later post on Monte Carlo simulation.
NZDCHF
Likewise, I also manually exited my trade in the NZDCHF pair due to a lack of momentum.

Although price crossed above this daily level, there hasn't been much momentum. The overlapping bars and the fact that price is slightly extended away from my exponential moving averages (EMAs), I do think there could be a pullback simply from the illiquidity.
EURNZD
Finally, I made an attempt to scale into a bigger short position on the EURNZD pair. Unfortunately, this did not pan out either.

On the daily timeframe, you can see that price is attempting to break below a key level. I plotted ascending trend lines on the 4-hour timeframe and here's how that played out.

I moved my stop loss from trade #1 to breakeven and entered a new sell trade (trade #2). Unfortunately, the stop loss from trade #1 got triggered; however, I did not take a loss.
Trade #2 is currently against me, which I'm not too concerned since there tends to be a pull back nearing or at the end-of-week market close.
If price drifts higher next week, it will likely pose a concern and prompt me to evaluate manually exiting this pair.
Pivoting focus to the week ahead, there are two pairs that I will be closely monitoring.

EURGBP
I'm taking a very similar play on the EURGBP pair as well.

| EURGBP Daily |
I have two horizontal trend lines (HTL) plotted on the daily timeframe, marking two areas of resistance in place. Both the weekly and daily charts are indicating a technical downtrend, defined by price trending below EMA60.

On the 4-hour timeframe, I have an ATL plotted. When price crosses below this trend line, that's a confluence signal and a cue for me to enter a short position.
I also have a sell stop in place in case I am not able to catch it live. Let's see how these two pairs play out next week.
