Updates: Week Ending October 24, 2025
The past week has been uneventful. I over-traded by entering trades based on price’s reaction away from EMAs rather than observing a confluence of price behaviors supporting the trend on the higher timeframe. I’ll need to reset, re-focus, and be very conscious of this in the future.
I do have two examples to highlight my over-trading and the sub-optimal entries executed. The first is on the AUDUSD pair.![]() |

I should have sat out of this trade completely, or drastically reduced position size. The price action on the daily timeframe indicated a choppy, ranging movement.
On the H1 timeframe, I was able to plot an ascending trendline. However, I should not have entered into a short position as soon as price crossed below the trendline. That was a mistake.
Leading up to my entry, I should’ve observed that price wasn’t making clean bounces off of this trendline. In addition, the daily timeframe showed a massive range, hinting at indecision.
I could’ve planned my entry better by setting a sell stop at a lower price, which wouldn’t have triggered. In addition, I should have reduced size at the bare minimum.
There is one more example that I would like to share and that was on the EURUSD pair.

This was a pretty stupid trade as well. The daily timeframe was showing a lot of indecision. Price was barely below both EMAs, and EMA20 was barely crossing below EMA60. This indicated a trend change from an uptrend to a downtrend. However, the trend change was very recent at that point in time.
Itching to take a trade, I took a bearish sentiment, and I anticipated an active daily bar being bearish as well when I should’ve waited for it to close.
On the H1 timeframe, my recklessness continued by drawing a very weak ascending trendline. I proceeded to enter a short position as soon as price crossed below the EMA band.
There are quite a few issues that I’m realizing in hindsight. The daily timeframe did not indicate a clear trend structure. The H1 timeframe also did not show a clear counter-trend move where I would be monitoring for a clear break for price to resume confluence with the daily trend.
I’ll wrap up the post here - nothing too eventful happened aside from my own overtrading. Let’s aim to do better next week.
